Our aim is simple. To produce the finest, on trend, cashmere products in the UK.
Cashmere is truly luxurious and a pleasure to handle.
Pink and Ginger have put together a team of people who are passionate about fashion, quality and supporting British manufacturing.
It was not easy finding the right people who had the same ideas and belief about aiming for perfection.
From the design process, manufacturing and website creation, we wanted people on board who had the same goals and ethos as we have. We believe we have done that.
We have left no stone unturned when laying down the foundations for Pink and Ginger. Countless hours have gone into this journey and we, as a team, will embrace it.
We have been adamant all along that we wanted to use the best cashmere fibre available, and make our products actually feel and look luxurious. With that in mind, we have been fortunate enough to link up with one of the world’s leading spinners of cashmere yarn, with over 140 years of heritage behind them.
Cashmere is renowned for being one of the softest and most luxurious fibres in the world.
So where does cashmere come from?
The vast majority of the world’s cashmere comes from the goat of Inner Mongolia. The goats grow an under fleece of soft short hair beneath their thick exterior coat. It is that undercoat which is Cashmere. Around 200-250 grams of cashmere is extracted per goat.
One kilo of raw fibre will yield only 200 grams of pure cashmere, so it takes the hair from 5-7 goats to make one sweater.
We really do love and appreciate our followers and support, as you are the reason this journey has been successful thus far. If you think we should be looking at other garments to develop in our range, why not let us know?
